So I really enjoyed learning about some the tools of web 2.0! There are A Lot of great resources for teachers that I was absolutely clueless about. Having them presented all in two days is a bit overwhelming, but I am eager to experience the sites and programs one by one in order to get more familiar with them. I really want to have a firm understanding of how to use this stuff before I get into a classroom. I think students today Need us to know about this stuff, because is how the future will learn!
I cannot pick just one that got me excited. I thought that animoto, smilebox, and wordle were super cool. The whole creating a video in no time and including anything you want right down to the music thing is awesome to me! I am eager to do this in my professional and personal life.Smilebox is beautifully laid out and it seems like a lot of fun for students too. Wordle I like because it presents words in creative and captivating ways....seeing the themes and words laid out in a word cloud is really neat. Also, doing twitter as my project really opened my eyes to its potential as well. Going into this project I was skeptical about how useful Twitter would be, but now I think its pertinent to the classroom and helpful.
My Blog to show my progress learning technology for my future classroom
The Purpose:
This blog is to archive my journey through the technological universe! I am embarking on learning the most up-to-date technology for the purpose of using it in my future classroom. As a Master's student in Secondary English Education, I want to know all that I can about technology and maximizing its potential in my classroom. I am sure there will be some bumps in the road, but I am very excited and look forward to sharing with you the technological wisdom I (hopefully) acquire!
