The Purpose:

This blog is to archive my journey through the technological universe! I am embarking on learning the most up-to-date technology for the purpose of using it in my future classroom. As a Master's student in Secondary English Education, I want to know all that I can about technology and maximizing its potential in my classroom. I am sure there will be some bumps in the road, but I am very excited and look forward to sharing with you the technological wisdom I (hopefully) acquire!

Lesson Plans

Creating a lesson plan that appropriately incorporates technology for English is tough. I am such a textbook person, and depending on websites to give me (and my students) the same information is a little uncomfortable for me...I understand the benefits of inquiry-based learning, however. I am sure my students will appreciate it more than a textbook.
Also, creating good lesson plans is tough in general. Really getting into analyzing standards, adapting instruction for special needs, and trying to be creative and innovative for the material has made me have a new respect for the great teachers that I had in school. Hope I can live up!
